CONSIGNMENT AGREEMENT (Sample Copy)

The Fiber Arts Collective is a space in Ashland where fiber artists come together to collaborate, work, teach, and sell their work. The Collective aspires to participate in a renewable and regenerative economy based on promoting social justice and environmental care through artistic expression. The Collective is not a non-profit entity, but it relies on private donations, membership fees, sales of art, and volunteer labor to operate. This Consignment Agreement is a separate agreement from the Membership Agreement.

Process:  Consignor shall pay an annual non-refundable application fee of $30 (made payable to “Cloth and Sundries”) to be juried into the Fiber Arts Collective gallery. At Consignor’s own expense, Consignors shall submit samples of work and an artist’s statement to the Jury Committee. The Committee will consult to select which and how many pieces from an artist to accept into the gallery. Selection will be based on the Jury Committee’s assessment of the work’s overall fit with the vision and needs of the gallery. Consignor’s displayed art will be reviewed on a quarterly basis to accommodate seasonal changes.

Consignment Fee Structure (Choose One)

_____ Consignor pays $40/month to C&S as a gallery display fee and receives 75% of works sold in the gallery.  Consignors must pay their gallery fee by the first day of each month that they are invited to show their craft in the retail gallery.  A $20 late fee will be assessed if the retail gallery fee is more than 5 days late.

_____Consignor pays NO monthly gallery fee and receives 60% of works sold in the gallery.

_____Youth Consignor (18 and under and registered students up to 21) pays NO monthly gallery fee and receives 85% of works sold in the gallery.

The Collective uses a point of sales system to track sales. Commission checks are issued to consignors within two weeks of the close of the month.  Checks may be picked up at The Collective front counter.

Neither the Fiber Arts Collective nor Cloth and Sundries nor any of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, agents, sponsors, employees, volunteers, members and representatives, other consignors and Fiber Arts Collective Members is responsible for damaged/stolen consigned art or other items belonging to Consignor located in the gallery.

The Consignor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Fiber Arts Collective, Cloth and Sundries, and each of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, agents, sponsors, employees, volunteers, members and representatives, other consignors and Fiber Arts Collective Members from any and all claims, demands, actions and costs which might arise out of Consignor’s participating, selling, volunteering, and working in the space and from responsibility for damaged/stolen consigned art or other items belonging to Consignor located in the gallery.
