Romanian Textiles Show-and-Tell

Marisa Petersen and Tanya Bemis are opening their trunks to prepare for a show-and-tell of Romanian textiles featuring actual items, visuals, sharing personal stories of living and traveling in Romania, and historical accounts. We will also share a fascinating connection between Queen Marie of Romania and the Pacific Northwest. After the Zoom show-and-tell, participants may follow-up with an in-person viewing of Romanian textile samples at the Fiber Arts Collective.

Cost: Free for FAC members and consignors / $10 for non-members 

First Friday Natural Dye Class

Be the first to enjoy the Natural Dye Experience at the Fiber Arts Collective. Jo Ann Manzone will be preparing 2 colors for solid shade dyeing and will provide each student with a mordanted lightweight cotton scarf to dye. Students can choice between Madder and Logwood. Pick one color or overdye with both. Jo Ann will be offering more in-depth classes in the fall that will include natural dyeing, botanical printing and a “farm to restaurant to cloth series.”

When: Friday, August 6th , 5:30-7:30 pm

Where: Fiber Arts Collective, 37 N Third St, Ashland

Max class enrollment: 4 people

Cost: $30 for FAC members, $35 for nonmembers. Includes all materials. Add another $10 if you would like to dye a second scarf.
